Our mission is to prepare future nursing assistants through hands-on training in a supportive, faith-based environment. With small class sizes of no more than eight students, you’ll receive personal guidance, practical experience, and the encouragement you need to succeed.

Our Programs

Nursing Assistant (NA)

The Ambassadors Institute Nursing Assistant Program equips students with the knowledge, confidence, and hands-on skills needed to begin a rewarding career in healthcare.


Program Structure

  • Total Hours: 120 hours completed over 6 weeks
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
  • Format: Classroom instruction, skills lab, and clinical experience
  • Small Class Sizes: Maximum of 8 students for personalized learning


Instructional Breakdown

  • Theory (80%) –  Classroom learning focused on patient care, safety, infection control, with skills lab and communication, and professionalism.
  • Skills Lab & Clinicals (20%) –  Hands-on practice in a healthcare setting followed by two 8-hour clinical shifts at a local healthcare facility, where students care for real patients under supervision.
     

Examples of What You’ll Learn

  • How to safely assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, feeding, and mobility
  • Proper infection control, hand hygiene, and patient safety techniques
  • Effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams

Program Outcomes

  • Graduates receive a Certificate of Completion and are eligible to take the State of Michigan Nursing Assistant Certification Exam.
  • Students are prepared for entry-level positions in hospitals, long-term care facilities, and home-care settings, providing compassionate care under the direction of an RN or LPN.
     

Program Cost

  • $2,868, including uniforms, warm-up jacket, books, backpack, nursing kit, pens, notebook and folder, CPR classes, background screenings, home healthcare workshops, and the first attempt at the State of Michigan Practice Certification.

Patient Care Technician (PCT)

The Ambassadors Institute Patient Care Technician Program prepares students to deliver direct patient care and technical support in hospitals, clinics, and laboratories. Students gain advanced clinical skills that build on their nursing assistant foundation and open doors to higher-level healthcare roles.


Program Structure

  • Total Hours: 175 hours completed over 10 weeks
  • Schedule: 4 days per week 
  • Format: Combination of classroom instruction, skills labs, and clinical experience
  • Small Class Sizes: Maximum of 8 students for individualized support
     

Instructional Breakdown

  • Theory & Skills Lab (80%) – Instruction focused on anatomy, infection control, EKG, phlebotomy, and advanced patient care techniques.
  • Clinical Experience (20%) – Includes supervised practice in real healthcare settings, where students apply patient care skills and clinical procedures.
     

Examples of What You’ll Learn

  • Performing EKGs and collecting blood samples safely
  • Assisting with patient hygiene, mobility, and vital sign monitoring
  • Communicating effectively with patients and the healthcare team

  • Advanced Basic Nursing Care

Program Outcomes

  • Graduates earn a Certificate of Completion and are eligible to take the National Certification Exam through the National Healthcareer Association (N.H.A.).
  • Students are fully prepared for roles in hospitals, dialysis centers, laboratories, and doctor’s offices.

  • $4,010, including uniforms, warm-up jacket, books, backpack, pens, notebook, phlebotomy kit, folder, background screening, and certification costs.
